Problem

An outdated and unintuitive interface,
with convoluted workflows that slowed down
operators’ daily activities and increased the risk of errors.

Our goal

Simplify the user experience by making it smoother
and more efficient, with a significant impact
on complex operational workflows
and operators’ day-to-day efficiency.

and operators’ day-to-day efficiency.

Process

> Redesigned UX/UI workflow by putting users and their
actual operational needs at the center of the process.

> Reduced the number of clicks required to complete
actions, making the interface clearer, more intuitive and
consistent, while maintaining full compatibility with
existing banking processes.

> Introduced reusable patterns across different steps
of the workflows to provide users with a more familiar
and consistent experience when navigating the platform.

> Implemented WCAG accessibility principles (level AA)
to ensure an inclusive user experience.

Solution highlights

From initial problem to a new solution who bring key benefits.

Unclear information to be entered

Explicit selection of available options and introduction of automation

Faster data entry with less effort for operators

The available access paths are not clearly presented to the user

Multiple selection clicks are required to complete the task

The available paths are immediately clear from the entry point

Users are taken directly to the desired page, avoiding additional clicks

Clear and easy navigation focused on reaching user's goal

Difficulty entering selection criteria and understanding the relationship between them

More guided filter selection through a step-by-step approach

Fewer errors when selecting and entering criteria, also a greater operational efficiency

Takeaways

Working on such a challenging and stimulating project allowed me to gain a stronger understanding of banking terminology and processes, develop a deeper understanding of complex workflows and provide solutions that simplify operations by balancing functional requirements with a smooth and accessible user experience for the end user.
